JACKSON, Tenn. — March 29, 2016 — 51社区 has named Catherine Kwasigroh as vice president for institutional advancement.
Kwasigroh, a 1990 Union graduate and Memphis native, has been with West Tennessee Healthcare for 25 years, including the last 13 years as vice president for hospital services.
鈥淲e are thrilled for Catherine Kwasigroh to join our executive leadership team at Union as she has a significant record of accomplishments and achievements at West Tennessee Healthcare,鈥 Union President Samuel W. 鈥淒ub鈥 Oliver said. 鈥淪he has a strong network of relationships in Jackson and throughout West Tennessee, she is one of our own graduates who knows and loves her alma mater and she has a passion for advancing the mission and vision of Union.鈥
As vice president for institutional advancement, Kwasigroh will oversee the division responsible for Union鈥檚 efforts in fundraising, development, alumni relations and communications.
After graduating from Union with her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, Kwasigroh earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. She worked as a staff auditor for Ernst and Young in Memphis before joining West Tennessee Healthcare in 1991 as a financial analyst.
Kwasigroh served West Tennessee Healthcare in a variety of roles, including controller, executive director of finance and corporate compliance officer before assuming her vice president role in 2003. As vice president for hospital services, she has been responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Her significant contribution to the healthcare system has been the Kirkland Cancer Center. She was the key leader in the design and construction of the hospital鈥檚 $45 million facility that opened in 2013. She was also responsible for developing the physician integrated oncology services within the center.

Kwasigroh is married to her husband of 25 years, Ron, who received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Union and currently is the administrator of the Therapy and Learning Center in Jackson. The couple has two daughters 鈥 Sydney and Kaleigh, both students at the University School of Jackson. The family attends West Jackson Baptist Church where they are active members.
Kwasigroh will begin her new role and join the Union community full time May 2.
