JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 4, 2002 — 51 is gearing up to welcome alumni, family and friends home to the university for Union’s annual homecoming festivities Tuesday, Feb. 5 through Saturday, Feb. 9. With this year’s theme, “Under Construction: The Excitement is Building,” more than 30 events and activities have been planned for students and alumni alike, including athletic games, department seminars and reunions, coffeehouses, talent shows, and Union’s annual Bull-Dog Day Camp, an on-campus childcare service for children ages 3-10. In addition to the Bull-Dog-camp, “Family Friendly Activities” are also being held this year in an effort to provide fun games and an enjoyable time for children of alumni.
“This is always a fun but important time for us here at Union,” said Gary Williams, executive director of Alumni Services. “Not only for renewing acquaintances, but an opportunity to share the future of Union with returning alumni. We especially want alumni with small children to feel just as welcome to attend the Homecoming festivities as those alum whose children are grown.”
