Dreisbach to lecture on Jefferson’s ‘Wall of Separation’ Feb. 25

JACKSON, Tenn.Feb. 24, 2016 — Author and professor Daniel Dreisbach will lecture on Thomas Jefferson and the separation of church at state Feb. 25 at 51.

Dreisbach’s principal research interests include American constitutional law and history, First Amendment law, church-state relations and criminal procedure. He is a professor in the department of justice, law and criminology at American University in Washington, D.C., and is the author “Thomas Jefferson and the Wall of Separation Between Church and State” and co-editor of “The Sacred Rights of Conscience” and “The Forgotten Founders on Religion and Public Life.”

His lecture, entitled “How Thomas Jefferson’s ‘Wall of Separation’ Redefined Religion’s Place in American Public Life,” will begin at 5 p.m. in Coburn Dining Hall in the Barefoot Student Union Building. It is free and open to the public.
