ERLC鈥檚 Walker to speak at Union for Constitution Day

JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 10, 2015 — Andrew Walker of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention will speak at 51社区 Sept. 17 at an event marking Constitution Day.

Walker, the ERLC鈥檚 director of policy studies, will address the topic 鈥淥f First Amendments and First Commandments: Challenges and Opportunities for Religious Freedom.鈥

In his ERLC role, Walker researches and writes about human dignity, family stability, religious liberty, public theology and the moral principles that support civil society. He also examines how ethics inform public policy decisions and investigates the role that religion plays in American political culture.

Walker is managing editor of Canon & Culture, and the co-author of 鈥淢arriage Is: How Marriage Transforms Society and Cultivates Human Flourishing.鈥 His writing and commentary has appeared in such outlets as National Review, The Daily Caller, First Things, The Gospel Coalition, Time and The Weekly Standard.

His address will begin at 7 p.m. in room D-3 in the Penick Academic Complex. The event is free and open to the public.
