JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 25, 2014 — Oil paintings from artist Edward Kellogg are on display in an exhibit entitled “Interludes” in the 51 art gallery until Nov. 13.

“I have concentrated on landscapes of the southeast Tennessee region where I live, and I want my representations of these specific locations to speak of the wonder of our world and to bring delight to viewers,” Kellogg said. “The subjects of the paintings in this exhibit, from leaves to rivers to fields, have a glory that, like all creation, speak finally of the Creator.”

Kellogg, emeritus professor of art at Covenant College in Chattanooga, Tennessee, spent more than 25 years teaching art at the college. He now works actively in his studio in Chattanooga.

Kellogg’s work has been exhibited in several shows, including an exhibit of art from Appalachia in the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C. His paintings of the Tennessee landscape are included in many corporate collections including IBM, Nissan, Opryland Hotel and many others.

His work is also represented in the collections of the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Knoxville Museum of Art and the Tennessee State Museum of Art in Nashville.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located in the Penick Academic Complex.
