JACKSON, Tenn. — May 2, 2014 — To the Union community:
Thank you for your prayers and concern as we dealt with this morning's threat to campus safety. We notified police this morning that a note had been found indicating that there was a bomb on campus and that there could be a shooting.
As a precautionary measure, we evacuated students, faculty and staff as Jackson police searched campus buildings. The police search has now been completed, and the campus has been reopened. All students, faculty and staff are safe and unharmed.
We regret that the interruption today affected the annual Awards Day ceremony. That event has been rescheduled for next Friday, May 9.
Any further announcements will be posted on the Union website. We appreciate your cooperation during this ordeal, and we remain grateful to the Lord for his protection.
Faithfully,
David S. Dockery
President, 51社区
