JACKSON, Tenn. — April 17, 2014 — Tim Smith, dean of the School of Nursing at 51社区 since 2005, has announced his resignation to accept a position at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C.
Smith will become Anderson鈥檚 vice president of strategic initiatives and special associate to the provost on July 7.

Originally from Memphis, Smith earned a diploma in nursing from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, a bachelor鈥檚 degree in nursing from the University of Memphis, a diploma in nurse anesthesia from the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and a master鈥檚 degree and doctorate in nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
He is working on a master鈥檚 degree in theology and a doctorate in leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
