JACKSON, Tenn. — April 17, 2014 — Tim Smith, dean of the School of Nursing at 51社区 since 2005, has announced his resignation to accept a position at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C.
Smith will become Anderson鈥檚 vice president of strategic initiatives and special associate to the provost on July 7.

Dockery said. 鈥淗is visionary and entrepreneurial skills have energized and advanced the outstanding nursing program at 51社区 over the past decade. Originally from Memphis, Smith earned a diploma in nursing from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, a bachelor鈥檚 degree in nursing from the University of Memphis, a diploma in nurse anesthesia from the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and a master鈥檚 degree and doctorate in nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
He is working on a master鈥檚 degree in theology and a doctorate in leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
