‘Remember Me’ walk to commemorate homicide-loss survivors

JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 2, 2013 — The sixth annual “Remember Me” commemorative walk for homicide-loss survivors will take place Oct. 7 at 51.

The event offers a time for families in and around West Tennessee to remember and honor their loved ones lost to homicide.

Attendees will arrive at the Carl Grant Events Center at 5:45 p.m. for a buffet dinner, award presentations and music. Tina Fox, the director of victim services for the Tennessee Board of Parole, also will speak to attendees.

In addition, families will take a candlelight walk around Union’s Miller Tower and release white balloons in memory of those lost to homicide.

City leaders, Union social work students and law enforcement and criminal justice communities will attend the event to support the families.
