JACKSON, Tenn. — April 23, 2013 — The Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career at 51 will host the 12th annual Career “U”niversity April 26 to provide students with career advice and a chance to meet with recruiters.
Career U is an academic approach to career planning and preparation. This year’s theme, “Engineering, Business and Technology Expo,” will focus on quality internship and employment opportunities for students.
Reneé Jones, associate director of the Vocatio Center, said that internships are a valuable tool for students, and that employers often use internships as a means of identifying potential employees.
“Students can network with top recruiters during our expo for competitive internship experiences with the potential for full-time employment and additional quality employment opportunities,” Jones said.
Companies that will be represented at this year’s event include: LifeWay Christian Resources, Altria Distributions, Republic Finance, Cook's Pest Control, Enterprise Holdings, Leroy Somer, Modern Woodmen of America, Regions Financial, Walmart, Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center, Internal Revenue Service, Youth Villages, Becker CPA, Women's Resource and Rape Assistance Program and Rainey, Kizer, Reviere and Bell.
