Loritts, Bryson to speak at Union鈥檚 Black History Month program Feb. 27

JACKSON, Tenn.Feb. 15, 2013 — Bryan Loritts and John Bryson of Fellowship Memphis will serve as guest panelists for 51社区鈥檚 sixth annual Black History Month symposium Feb. 27.

Loritts is the church鈥檚 lead pastor, while Bryson serves as teaching pastor. Frank Anderson, pastor of True Light Baptist Church in Memphis and associate professor of ministry and missions at Union, will serve as the event鈥檚 facilitator.

鈥淭he wealth of knowledge and spiritual insight that Pastor Loritts, Dr. Bryson, and Dr. Anderson will bring to the Union campus and community are greatly anticipated,鈥 said Jacqueline Taylor, assistant dean of students and director of the Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career, which will host the event along with the MOSAIC student organization.

This year鈥檚 symposium is entitled 鈥淔rom Every Tribe: A Dialogue on Church, Campus, and Community鈥 and is designed to engage the audience with a dialogue on the joys and challenges of multi-ethnic leadership, Taylor said.

A graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University, Loritts is the author of 鈥淕od on Paper鈥 and 鈥淎 Cross-Shaped Gospel.鈥 Outreach magazine recently included Loritts in its list of the top 30 emerging Christian leaders in the country.

Bryson is the founder of the multi-ethnic Fellowship Memphis church. He has a doctorate in leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is the author and presenter of the 鈥淐ollege Ready鈥 DVD series.

The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center, with a light lunch being served. The event is free, but reservations are required by Feb. 22.
