JACKSON, Tenn. — Dec. 11, 2012 — 51社区 journalism professor Julia Duin won three awards from the Religion Newswriters Association this fall for her writing in The Washington Post Magazine.
Duin, who came to Union this semester from the Washington Post, won third place in the 鈥淩eligion Reporter of the Year鈥� category for large newspapers and wire services. She also took second place in the 鈥淪upple Religion Feature Writer of the Year鈥� and 鈥淢agazine News Religion Report of the Year鈥� categories.
鈥淭his was a personal record for me,鈥� Duin said of her awards. 鈥淢ost folks didn鈥檛 know I鈥檇 moved to Union, so I used one of my acceptance speeches to say I had relocated to Tennessee to teach here.鈥�
