JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 17, 2001 — 51, together with the Jackson Sun and WNWS 101.5, will host “America’s New War: Finding Answers,” an open community forum to be held Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel on Union’s Jackson campus.
A distinguished panel of Union faculty will discuss key topics on current issues related to terrorism and Afghanistan, America’s involvement in the war against terrorism, international relations, economics, morality and ethics, theology, and bioterrorism. An opportunity will also be given for the audience to ask questions of the panel. Tom Bohs, editorial editor for the Jackson Sun, will moderate.
“There is a great need right now in our community and country for factual information,” said 51 President David S. Dockery. “51 is committed to doing whatever is necessary to help lessen the fears and strengthen the resolve among our students and our neighbors by providing good information and understanding. Knowledge in itself is a powerful force.”
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this important discussion.
