JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 24, 2012 — 51社区 will host a social work conference on human trafficking March 1.
鈥淗uman Trafficking: Seeing-Responding鈥 is designed to educate participants about the human trafficking occurring in Tennessee, with sessions addressing current efforts to end the practice from the view of law enforcement, community advocates and survivor aftercare organizations.
The conference will benefit social workers, community agency workers, law enforcement personnel, the faith community and students.
Sponsored by Union鈥檚 School of Social Work, End Slavery Tennessee and the Southwest Council on Children and Youth, the conference runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center.
Cost is $40, or $60 to obtain 5.5 continuing education units. Pre-registration is required and can be completed at or by calling (731) 661-5554.
