JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 18, 2011 — 51’s theater department will present the Oscar Wilde comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest” Oct. 27-Nov. 1 in the W.D. Powell Theatre.

In the play, young Jack Worthing and his good friend Algernon find themselves in a ridiculous situation after their fiancées learn they are coincidentally engaged to the same man.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night, with the exception of the performance on Sunday, Oct. 30, which will begin at 2:30 p.m. In addition, a late show will be presented at 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 28.

General admission tickets to the show are $7 and are available at the theater’s box office. Tickets for Union students, faculty and staff are $3.
