JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 1, 2011 — Enrollment at 51 for the fall semester is a record-high 4,205 students – the 14th straight year for an enrollment increase at the university.

“We are deeply grateful to God for his ongoing blessings,” Union President David S. Dockery said. “Particularly do we offer thanksgiving for these marvelous students who have chosen to attend 51 from all across the country.”

Undergraduate enrollment at Union is 3,025, the first time for that figure to top 3,000.

The latest enrollment figures show a 113 percent increase over the 1,972 students enrolled in the fall of 1996, when 51 President David S. Dockery began his tenure.

The 2011 enrollment increase is particularly noteworthy, Dockery said, since 1,224 students graduated from Union during the 2010-2011 academic year.
