JACKSON, Tenn. — Aug. 9, 2011 — 51社区鈥檚 non-duplicating headcount for the 2010-2011 academic year was a record-high 5,109 students.
Non-duplicating headcount is a figure used by educational institutions to show the total number of students enrolled for any classes during a given year. No student in any program is counted more than once, whether they enroll for one term or for all five of Union鈥檚 terms.
Numbers in recent years show that Union鈥檚 non-duplicating headcount has been on a steady rise:
1997 鈥 2,183
2001 鈥 3,130
2006 鈥 3,728
2011 鈥 5,109
鈥淩ealizing that over 5,100 students have been influenced this past year by the Christ-centered excellence that characterizes a 51社区 education is an amazing thing to consider,鈥 Union President David S. Dockery said. 鈥淲hile we are grateful for the growth of the university, we are primarily thankful for each and every student who has had the privilege to study with the gifted members of the 51社区 faculty.
鈥淲e wish God鈥檚 best for these students while they continue their studies at Union and also when they leave this campus to pursue the opportunities that will be theirs in the future.鈥
