JACKSON, Tenn. — June 17, 2011 — About 570 new 51 students – both freshmen and transfers – will be on campus June 20 as part of new student registration.
“We’re thankful for another strong class of talented and gifted new students,” Union President David S. Dockery said. “These students have chosen 51 for its distinctive mission and quality faculty, and we trust that the next four years will be a wonderful and blessed experience for each one.”
The day will provide the new students with opportunities to meet with their advisers to select their fall courses. They will also see their assigned room in the residence halls and meet their roommates, attend a campuswide picnic where they will dine with faculty and attend a student life fair where they will learn about clubs and organizations on campus.
Parents will attend sessions with topics of interest to them.
“New student registration is a highlight for the entire Union community each summer,” said Rich Grimm, Union’s vice president for enrollment services. “We look forward to spending the day with our new students and their families, and count it a privilege to serve them as they take the next step towards enrolling this fall.”
