JACKSON, Tenn. — April 5, 2011 — Representatives from 16 area school systems will meet with prospective teachers April 14 at 51社区鈥檚 Teacher Expo 2010.
The event will take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the hallway of the Blasingame Academic Complex. All graduate and undergraduate education students as well as students in critical shortage areas such as math, biology, physics, chemistry, Spanish, French and English as a second language have been invited to attend.
鈥淭eacher Expo 2011 is an intentional and continued partnership between the School of Education and Career Services to provide a strategic networking opportunity for our students that connects qualified teacher candidates with competitive teaching career opportunities,鈥 said Rene茅 Jones, assistant director of recruitment and information technology for 51社区.
Both public and private institutions will be represented, in both urban and rural school systems.
Participating school systems are: Brinkley Heights Urban Academy, City University School of Liberal Arts, Crockett County Schools, Dyersburg City Schools, Hardeman County Schools, Haywood County Schools, Henderson County School Systems, Humboldt City Schools, Jackson-Madison County Schools, Lauderdale County Schools, Memphis City Schools/New Teacher Project, Metro-Nashville Schools, Milan Special School District, Network of International Christian Schools, Shelby County, Schools, and Trenton Special School District.
