JACKSON, Tenn.March 21, 2011 — Convenience and personal pleasure should not be the standards by which Christians judge the calling of God on their lives, Kevin Ezell told the 51社区 community March 18.

鈥淕od often calls us to do things that are inconvenient,鈥 Ezell said. 鈥淕od often calls us to do things that are greater than our ability to accomplish.鈥

Ezell, president of the Southern Baptist Convention鈥檚 North American Mission Board and a 51社区 alumnus, spoke in a chapel service in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel and preached from Acts 20.

He challenged Union students to be good stewards of the life that God has given them, reminding students that 鈥淕od has placed you here for far more than to draw a breath and draw a salary.鈥

Ezell said Christians must be faithful and focused on being obedient to the Lord in every step of their walk with him and in whatever he has called them.
