JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 6, 2010 — David Neuhouser, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Taylor University, will address the topic “What does mathematics have to do with Christianity?” at 51 Oct. 11.

“Mathematics is one of the last things that most people would think of as having anything to do with Christianity,” Neuhouser said. “However, the thesis of this paper is that mathematics can be a great help in Christian growth and understanding.”

Neuhouser has served as chairman of the mathematics department at Taylor, as director of the honors program and as director of the Center for the Study of C.S. Lewis and Friends. He is the author of the book “Open to Reason” and compiled the anthologies “George MacDonald: Selections from His Greatest Works” and “A Novel Pulpit: Sermons from George MacDonald’s Fiction.”

Neuhouser will speak in Harvey Auditorium at 7 p.m. His address is free and open to the public.
