JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 6, 2010 — David Neuhouser, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Taylor University, will address the topic 鈥淲hat does mathematics have to do with Christianity?鈥� at 51社区 Oct. 11.
鈥淢athematics is one of the last things that most people would think of as having anything to do with Christianity,鈥� Neuhouser said. 鈥淗owever, the thesis of this paper is that mathematics can be a great help in Christian growth and understanding.鈥�
Neuhouser has served as chairman of the mathematics department at Taylor, as director of the honors program and as director of the Center for the Study of C.S. Lewis and Friends. He is the author of the book 鈥淥pen to Reason鈥� and compiled the anthologies 鈥淕eorge MacDonald: Selections from His Greatest Works鈥� and 鈥淎 Novel Pulpit: Sermons from George MacDonald鈥檚 Fiction.鈥�
Neuhouser will speak in Harvey Auditorium at 7 p.m. His address is free and open to the public.
