JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 13, 2010 — Pianist Sin-Hsing Tsai will present a recital Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in 51社区鈥檚 Hartley Recital Hall.

The program will feature the works of Robert Schumann to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his birth.

Tsai began her musical career at age 8 when she was admitted into the prestigious government program for musically talented children in her native city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Two years later she was named one of the top 10 music students in her country.

She is a recipient of the Artist Diploma from the Hochschule f眉r Musik in Hamburg, Germany, and a doctoral degree from the University of Southern California. She serves on the faculty at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and has appeared in such festivals and concert series as The Darius Milhaud Festival in Buenos Aires, Forum junger Komponisten in Hamburg, Music of Changes, Arts Alive and The Bellflower Concert Series in Los Angeles, and Patten Performances in Chattanooga.

The Hartley Recital Hall is located in Jennings Hall on the west end of Union鈥檚 campus. The recital is free and open to the public.
