JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 20, 2001 — 51社区鈥檚 communication students will have the opportunity to attend teleconferences with game show legends and newcomers as part of their mass media and advertising classes.
The teleconferences will include Monty Hall of 鈥淟et鈥檚 Make a Deal鈥 on Friday, Sept. 2. He will be discussing his career and how the idea for the television classic 鈥淟et鈥檚 Make a Deal鈥 was created. He will also focus on 鈥淕iving Back to Your Community鈥. On Tuesday, Oct. 2, the class will hear from the creators of the USAopoly about the unique marketing strategies for board games, particularly specialty and commemorative editions of Monopoly, Clue and Scrabble.
On Friday, Oct. 5, Jackson native Wink Martindale will speak on his early years in Memphis and his eventual rise to television fame. He will also speak on the topic of 鈥淢aintaining One鈥檚 Christian Values in a Secular World.鈥
Janet Waldo, voice of Judy Jetson and Penelope Pitshop, will talk Friday, Nov. 16 on her early years of performing with Lucille Ball and how she built a career with her voice in two of the most enduring characters from the animated world.
