JACKSON, Tenn. — Nov. 5, 2009 — Robert Brabenec, math professor at Wheaton College and executive secretary of the Association of Christians in the Mathematical Sciences, will lecture at 51 Nov. 12 on “Thinking Philosophically about Mathematics.”
Brabenec began teaching math at Wheaton in 1964, and became chairman of the math department there in 1967. He began the Association of Christians in Mathematical Sciences, which has about 400 members, in 1977 as a way to help Christian mathematicians see connections between mathematics and the Christian faith.
His lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in White Hall room 101. It is free and open to the public.
