JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 26, 2009 — 51社区鈥檚 career services office will host the ninth annual Career 鈥淯鈥漬iversity Oct. 29 to provide students with career advice and a chance to meet with recruiters.
Career U is an academic approach to career planning and preparation, and this year鈥檚 event will focus on topics related to internships 鈥� such as interviewing strategies, internship salary negotiation and how to turn part-time experience into a full-time position.
鈥淭he current state of our country鈥檚 economy dictates the need for our students to become more competitive as well as attractive to top companies,鈥� said Rene茅 Jones, assistant director of recruitment and information technology in Career Services. 鈥淎n internship experience will help to provide the solution to both needs.鈥�
Recruiting companies that will be represented at Career U include Enterprise Rent-A-Car, LifeWay Christian Resources, National Guard, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Regions Bank, the Southern Baptist Convention鈥檚 Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, Sen. Bob Corker鈥檚 office, Target and Wal-Mart.
