JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 11, 2001 — 51社区 students, faculty, staff and administration met together in chapel to come together and pray for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and Pentegon as well as President Bush and the country as a whole.

鈥淭here are a few times in our lives when things happen and we don鈥檛 know what the response should be and the only thing we know to do is to pray,鈥� said Brady.
Already reports are beginning to trickle in as students are trying to find out about loved ones who worked in the World Trade Center, or near the areas that were attacked.
Faculty members are making their own decisions about classes. Brady said that all of the professors he has spoken with are taking their classes as opportunities to pray and talk about the crisis with their students.
鈥淭his is something that causes you to stop and really reflect on reality,鈥� said Brady. 鈥淚t puts life in perspective.鈥� Brady said he is encouraging students not to go on as this is a 鈥� 鈥榣ife is normal鈥� day 鈥� but to recognize this as a pivotal time in history and what God will do with this.鈥�
鈥淭oday is certainly a tragic day in the life of our nation,鈥� said Union President David S. Dockery. 鈥淥ur prayers go out for our president and those who will make key decisions in behalf of our country. Likewise, we extend our sympathy and prayers to families affected by the events of this day. We trust God鈥檚 protection and guidance for this country, for our campus, our students and their extended family.鈥�

NOTICE OF SCHEDULE CHANGES:
- Both Lambuth University and Union's administration in concurrence with the day's events have decided to cancel the soccer game originally scheduled for this evening, and will reschedule at a later time.
- 51社区's volleyball matches tonight in Memphis, Tenn. have been rescheduled for September 19th at 7:00 p.m. Union was to play Rhodes College and Harding University in back-to-back games. Union's match with Rhodes will be made up on the above date, however, the match with Harding has been cancelled.
