JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 22, 2009 — Steve Gaines, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tenn., and Michael Card, a Christian recording artist, will be the featured guests in chapel services at 51社区 this week.
Gaines, a 1979 Union graduate, will speak Sept. 23. Gaines has been Bellevue鈥檚 pastor since 2005, and previously served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Gardendale, Ala.; West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn.; and Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas, Texas.
Card, who has recorded more than 23 albums that have sold more than 4 million copies, will give a concert Sept. 25. Card has written such favorite songs as 鈥淓l Shaddai,鈥� 鈥淟ove Crucified Arose鈥� and 鈥淓mmanuel鈥� and has also written or co-written several books.
Each service will begin at 10 a.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. The services are open to the public.
