JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 14, 2008 — 51社区 political science professor Kevin Cooney has co-edited a new textbook, 鈥淭he Rise of China and International Security: America and Asia Respond.鈥�
Published by Routledge, the book offers diverse and comprehensive views of China鈥檚 rise and its implications for the East Asian region and beyond.
The book is co-edited by Yoichiro Sato, associate professor at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies in Honolulu. Cooney and Sato each contributed chapters to the book as well. Cooney wrote the introduction and a chapter entitled 鈥淐hinese-American hegemonic competition in East Asia: A new cold war or into the arms of America?鈥�
Cooney was also recently elected as president of Christians in Political Science, an organization that supports Christian political scientists with the integration of their faith in their research and teaching.
