JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 8, 2008 — Organist Todd Wilson will be the featured performer for this year鈥檚 McAfee Organ Concert Oct. 21 at 51社区.
Wilson is professor of organ at Indiana University鈥檚 Jacobs School of Music. He also serves as organ curator of the recently restored Norton Memorial organ in Severance Hall in Cleveland, Ohio, the home of the Cleveland Orchestra.
Wilson has performed in many major cities throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, including concerts at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, United Kingdom; Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
He has won several competitions, including the prestigious French Grand Prix de Chartres, the Fort Wayne Competition, the Strader National Scholarship Competition and the national competition sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel on Union鈥檚 campus. The event is free and open to the public.
