NBC鈥檚 O鈥橠onnell to address 2008 election at Union Forum

JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 29, 2008 — NBC and MSNBC correspondent Norah O鈥橠onnell will speak at a 51社区 luncheon Oct. 22 as part of the annual Union Forum.

O鈥橠onnell will address the topic, 鈥淭he 2008 Election: An Eleventh Hour Analysis.鈥 The chief Washington correspondent for MSNBC, O鈥橠onnell also serves as a contributing correspondent for NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥 show.

She previously was White House correspondent for NBC News and a reporter for NBC News broadcasts.

O鈥橠onnell has covered a number of major breaking news stories for both NBC and MSNBC, including the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. She traveled extensively with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and reported on the war in Afghanistan and the war on terrorism. Washington Magazine has named O鈥橠onnell one of Washington鈥檚 100 most powerful women.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, O鈥橠onnell is a graduate of Georgetown University, where she received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in philosophy and a master鈥檚 degree in international affairs.

For the past nine years, Union has hosted the nation鈥檚 top speakers for an inside look at topics such as business, politics and international affairs. Previous speakers have included William Kristol, Margaret Carlson, Juan Williams, Stephen Carter, Mark Shields, David Brooks, Fred Barnes, Robert Novak, Michael Medved and Clarence Page, among others.

The luncheon will begin at 11:45 a.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center. Tickets are $40 each, or $200 for a table of six. Online registration is available at .
