JACKSON, Tenn. — Aug. 5, 2008 — 51社区 is one of five colleges in West Tennessee to be named listed among the 138 Best Southeastern Colleges by The Princeton Review.
鈥淭he Princeton Review designation is another marker pointing to the quality of a 51社区 education,鈥 51社区 President David S. Dockery said. The 630 colleges across the country named 鈥渞egional best鈥 represent only about 25 percent of the nation鈥檚 2,500 four-year colleges.
鈥淲e commend all of the schools we name this year as our 鈥榬egional best鈥 colleges primarily for their excellent academic programs,鈥 said Robert Franek, vice president of publishing for The Princeton Review. 鈥淲e selected them based on institutional data we collected from several hundred schools in each region, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of independent and high school-based college advisors whose recommendations we invite.
鈥淲e also take into account what each school鈥檚 customers 鈥 their students 鈥 report to us about their campus experiences at their schools on our 80-question student survey.鈥
Those institutions from West Tennessee on The Princeton Review list were Union, Christian Brothers University, Freed-Hardeman University, Rhodes College, and the University of Tennessee-Martin.
