JACKSON, Tenn. — Jan. 23, 2008 — Boston College philosophy professor Jorge L.A. Garcia will address the topic of racism in a Mars Hill Forum lecture Feb. 1 at 51社区.
Garcia is the author of the forthcoming book, 鈥淭he Heart of Racism: Essays on Diversity, Race, and Relativism鈥� and has also written several articles and essays on a wide range of topics in theoretical and applied ethics. He is an advisory board member for the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture and a non-resident fellow with the Du Bois Institute at Harvard University.
The Mars Hill Forum Lectures are an initiative of the Carl F.H. Henry Center for Christian Leadership designed to foster Christian thinking about relevant contemporary issues. Past Mars Hill Forum speakers have included Os Guinness, Ken Myers, C. Ben Mitchell and Wendy Shalit.

Garcia鈥檚 lecture will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Harvey Auditorium in the Barefoot Student Union Building. It is free and open to the public.
