Union students release worship project

JACKSON, Tenn.June 20, 2001 — 51社区 2001 graduates Kristen Wicker and Steve Moore have released their first worship album, appropriately titled, The Worship Project.

Wicker, a native of Naples, Fla., and Moore, from Goodlettsville, Tenn., decided to record the project after taking a class on worship taught by Union President David S. Dockery.

鈥淲orship is giving worth to God,鈥 said Wicker. 鈥淎s we learned in Dr. Dockery鈥檚 class, we worship God the Father, through His Son Jesus Christ, enabled by the Holy Spirit.鈥

The duo has attempted to put into practice the things that were taught in that class which also served as a guide for the CD.

Intended to prompt listeners to engage in authentic worship, The Worship Project offers a raw acoustical sound, with beautifully unique harmonies that spin and weave together, avoiding more traditional harmonic patterns and successfully drawing the listener into their own personal worship.

According to Wicker and Moore, the project is designed to follow the movements in worship as seen in scripture, beginning with praise and adoration, moving into confession of sins, thanksgiving, supplication and then concluding with a look to the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Others participating in various aspects of the project include Shane Critser, Bryan Dease, David Levisky, Melissa Mann, Amanda Larsen and Sam Mizell.

The CD is being sold for $10 each. For more information on how to obtain a copy, call (941) 592-6967.
