Union will offer back-to-back conferences for pastors and senior adults

JACKSON, Tenn.May 15, 2001 — 51社区 will offer two back-to-back conferences this summer meant to inspire and challenge those attending.

Sponsored by the R.G. Lee Center for Christian Ministries, the university鈥檚 annual Pastors鈥 School will be held July 30 through Aug. 2, and focuses this year on the theme of 鈥淩evisiting Your Call.鈥 Speakers include Henry Blackaby from Henry Blackaby Ministries; Robert Coleman from the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago; Brooks Faulkner from LifeWay Christian Resources; Rev. Sam and Ruthe Shaw from Germantown Baptist Church; Randy Pool from the Tennessee Baptist Convention and Hal Poe, professor of faith and culture at Union.

Meals and campus housing are provided at a cost of $50 per individual or $75 per couple. Those who have made arrangements off campus are only required to pay for meals 鈥 $30 for individuals and $45 for couples. Meal plans are also available for children.

A senior adult conference titled 鈥淟iving: a Lifelong Task鈥 will be held Thursday, Aug. 2 and Friday, Aug. 3 and will also feature Henry Blackaby in addition to Esther Burroughs. Beginning with an Extravaganza Banquet on Thursday evening, special interest conferences will be offered ranging from such topics as 鈥淭he Shepherd鈥檚 Psalm鈥 to 鈥淪enior Adults and Healthy Living鈥 during the two-day conference. Registration fee options range from $10 to $20 and a list of area hotels is available.
