JACKSON, Tenn. — June 19, 2007 — The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency will hold an earthquake preparedness exercise on the 51社区 campus June 20.
Designed to test the response of local and state agencies to a major disaster, the drill will take place in Jennings Hall and the intramural field north of the building, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Union is just one of the sites across West Tennessee that is being used for the exercise. The drill will simulate a structural collapse of Jennings Hall, with rescue, emergency medical services and hazardous materials teams from several surrounding counties participating.
About 500 people are expected to be on campus to participate in the simulation.
