JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 5, 2006 — 51社区 graduate Jerome Teel鈥檚 debut novel was released Sept. 5.
Published by Howard Books, 鈥淭he Election鈥� was inspired by Teel鈥檚 desire to tell a story of the impact individuals with a Christian worldview can have when they become involved in local, state and national politics. According to a release from the publisher, Teel became motivated to write a novel when he heard author John Grisham speak in one of his law classes at the University of Mississippi.

Teel is a 1989 Union graduate and a past president of Union鈥檚 National Alumni Association. He is an attorney in Jackson, where he lives with his wife Jennifer and their three children.
