JACKSON, Tenn. — April 13, 2006 — The men鈥檚 soccer team of 51社区 will sponsor a benefit show April 25 to raise money for a local youth soccer team.
Proceeds from 鈥淎 Night of Song and Dance with Union Soccer and Friends鈥� will go to the travel costs for the Jackson Wolves 95, a team of boys ages 9-11 that has qualified for the national tournament in Orlando, Fla.
鈥淭here鈥檚 never been a boys鈥� or girls鈥� soccer team in Jackson that has made it to the national tournament,鈥� said Chris Lean, a member of the Union soccer team and coach of the Jackson Wolves 95. 鈥淭his is a huge deal for the Jackson Soccer Club.鈥�
Lean said the Wolves are trying to raise $10,000 to help pay for the travel costs of players and their families.
In addition to the Union men鈥檚 soccer team, other performers at the show will include the men of Union鈥檚 Lambda Chi Alpha and Alpha Tau Omega chapters, the women of Union鈥檚 Chi Omega chapter, Cody Curtis, Leah Pruitt and Stephanie Clark.
The show will be held at 7 p.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel at 51社区. Tickets are $5 for general admission or $3 for Union students.
