| Jackson, Tenn. - The
51ÉçÇø Art Gallery will open 1999 with a
multimedia show called "Crossing The
Boundaries." The presentation, which is sponsored in
part by the Ohio Arts Council, is a collaborative project
by Gaylen Stewart and Steve Scott. The show will be open
Jan. 6 - Feb. 8, 8 a.m. - 5 p. m., Monday - Friday. Stewart
is an artist and lecturer from Rio Grande, Ohio, and
Scott is a writer and poet from California. Their project
explores themes connecting the spiritual and the natural,
symbols and objects, images and text, and sound and
perception. Through this project, they found similarities
in the manner that they both combine several media in
order to express their artistic vision. "These
parallels culminated in a project that challenges us
artistically and intertwined our disciplines into a new
form that neither of us had previously, fully
envisioned," said Stewart.
