Chapman to address Union
graduates in December

Dr. Morris Chapman, president of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention, congratulates Dr. David S. Dockery during his Inauguration Ceremony in 1996. Dr. Chapman will give the commencement address at Union's December graduation ceremony.
Jackson, Tenn. - Morris H. Chapman, president of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention, will give the commencement address at Union University’s December graduation ceremony, Saturday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel in the Penick Academic Complex.

Chapman holds master of divinity and doctorate of ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Seminary. In 1990, he was elected and served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention, and previously was the senior pastor of First Baptist in Wichita Falls, TX.

154 students will receive degrees on the Jackson campus, close to double the number of graduates last year. 39 Germantown campus students will receive their degrees in a separate commencement ceremony on Sunday.
