Union University Players
Present One Acts

. - "Something Old, Something New" brings a classic one-act play and a recent one-act play to the W.D. Powell Theater at 51社区 Dec. 11. The student-directed one acts are "A New York Minute" by Michele Palermo, and "A Marriage Proposal," by Anton Chekov.

"A New York Minute" involves the story of two best friends, one of which has committed suicide but returns to Earth one week after his death. The drama stars sophomore Abby Thomas and junior Adam Hasty. Junior Mary Catherine Bond will direct the performance.

"A Marriage Proposal" reveals a love story in a comedic fashion. The main characters, played by senior Jennifer Shearon, senior Ben Wilkinson and senior Blake Staples, find out about the risks of the proposal when greed becomes a factor. Chekov's one act is directed by junior Jon Crook.

Bond and Crook, as students of the Fundamentals of Directing Class at Union, are required to direct a one act. Bond is a communication arts major with a speech and theater emphasis, while Crook is a Christian studies and communication arts-theater emphasis double major.

Tickets to the Dec. 11 one acts are $4 for general admission and $3 for students. The 51社区 Box Office may be reached at 661-5101.
