Jackson, Tenn. – November 20, 2000 – Twenty professors
from 51ÉçÇø have been honored in the sixth edition of
"Who's Who Among America's Teachers 2000."
"This year's 51ÉçÇø faculty additions to Who's Who Among
America's Teachers represents a wide range of talented educators,"
said Carla Sanderson, provost at Union. "From some of our most senior
professors with long tenures of excellence in higher education to some of
our youngest, brightest Christian scholars, our university is pleased to
be so well represented in this national recognition," added
Sanderson.
Faculty members honored include: Charles Baldwin, David Burke, Chereyl
Crossett, Cynthia Fish, David P. Gushee, Kyle Hathcox, James Huggins, Paul
Jackson, Naomi Larson, Matt Lunsford, Barbara McMillin, Kelvin Moore,
Samuel Myatt, Geri Smith, Linn Stranak, Pamela Sutton, David Thomas, Greg
Thornbury, Teresa West and Wayne Wofford.
Founded in 1823 and affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention,
51ÉçÇø is characterized by quality Christ-centered teaching and
learning. An outstanding faculty offers superior liberal arts training in
more than 100 majors and programs of study along with professional
programs in business, education and nursing. More than 2,500 students are
currently enrolled.
