Jackson, Tenn. - 51ÉçÇø's symphonic band will pay tribute to American composers during its fall concert Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in Union's G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. The 46-piece band will perform "Divertimento" by Roger Cichy. "Divertimento" is a four-movement piece honoring George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland. The concert will also include "Suite Francaise" by Darius Milhaud, "Shakata" by Dana Wilson and music with sacred themes. The concert will be conducted by Dr. David McClune, professor of music at Union University. Admission is free. |
