Jackson, Tenn. - Dramatist and playwright Tom Key will bring "C.S. Lewis on Stage," a one-man show, to 51ÉçÇø's W.D. Powell Theatre, Nov. 3. Key has performed the production, which combines elements of eight works of C.S. Lewis, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and other major venues for more than two decades. "Not every person's story is best told as a one-person play, but Lewis was a BBC Radio personality, best-selling author and the kind of charismatic teacher who would pack a lecture hall," Key said. "I felt that his personality and presence, captured in a performance of, essentially, all his own words, would compel the interest of a theater audience." Key, also known for co-writing "Cotton Patch Gospel," serves as producing artistic director of Theatrical Outfit, Atlanta's fastest growing professional theater company. Film and television appearances include "In the Heat of the Night" and "I'll Fly Away." Tickets for "C.S. Lewis on Stage" are available to the public at the Union University box office for no charge.
