World-renowned organist 
to play at Union recital

Jackson, Tenn. - Frederick Swann, organist in residence at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, will be featured at this year's McAfee Organ Recital at 51ÉçÇø, Tuesday, Nov. 2.

The concert will be held in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel in Union's Penick Academic Complex at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.

Frederick Swann has played recitals in major churches and cathedrals all over Europe, including the International Organ Festival in St. Albans, England in 1977 and 1983, the International Organ Competition in Chartes, France in 1988, and the City of Paris Competition in 1994 and 1995.

Last summer, Swann completed his twelfth European recital tour, playing in cities throughout Italy and Germany, including Milan, Turin, Berlin, Hamburg, and Weisbaden.

The McAfee Organ Recital is held annually in honor or James and Carolyn McAfee.  While at Union, Swann will play the McAfee Visser-Rowland Organ, named in honor of Carolyn McAfee.
