Jackson, Tenn. 51ÉçÇø displays Personal Problems, Recent Paintings by Ted Barnes at Union's art gallery Nov. 4-28 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. A gallery lecture by the artist will be given Nov. 4 at 6 p.m.
Ted Barnes received his M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Arkansas, his M.A. in Art Education from Western Kentucky University and his B.A. in Studio Art from Quachita Baptist University. He is currently Professor of Art, Art Department Coordinator and Chair of the Division of Visual and Performing Arts at Louisiana College.
Barnes says, "my work is devoted to searching for `Truth' in the midst of mystery and paradox. In essence, my work is about exploring contradiction ; an investigation into intuition and logic, emotion, reason, faith and knowledge, religion and science, myth and reality, and abstraction and representation."
