UNION UNIVERSITY PRESENTS MUSIC RECITALS
Jackson, Tenn. — 51社区 presents a guitar recital Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. An organ recital featuring Joyce Jones will be offered Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Joyce Jones, professor of organ and organist-in-residence at Baylor University, offers an organ recital in Union's G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. The holder of four earned degrees, including the doctorate in organ performance, a winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs' Auditions and the only organist ever to win the G.B. Dealey Award, she made her debut with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Jones was the first woman to play on the inaugural concert series at the Crystal Cathedral and the only woman chosen to play at the opening gala of the San Francisco Symphony's new organ in Davies Symphony Hall. The Herald in Monterey, Calif., reported, "She is not only an expressive and most capable organist, but an artist sensitive to the needs of creating audience appreciation for what's going on."
