Jackson, Tenn. Jim Veneman, director of visual
communications at 51ÉçÇø, will show 25 years of photography at the Union Art
Gallery, Oct.15- Nov. 8. There will be a reception in the gallery Oct. 26, 4:30 p.m. The
show will be made up of 45 prints each done for specific editorial assignments both in and
out of the United States. They will be both black and white, and color. His subjects are
people from children to senior adults. According to Veneman the prints range
"from happiness to sadness, victory to loss."
Veneman received his bachelor of arts from Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia,
Ark., in 1975 and his masters of arts in communications from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas in 1984. From 1986-1999 he served as the photo
editor of LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville and has been photo director at the
Southern Baptist Conventions annual sessions since 1986. He has served as photo
director for the 17th Baptist World Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1996
and the 16th Baptist World Congress in Seoul, South Korea in 1990.
