UNION UNIVERSITY PLAYERS PRESENT "THE MIRACLE WORKER"

Jackson, Tenn. — "The Miracle Worker" will be playing in the W.D. Powell Theater at 51ÉçÇø Oct. 23-25, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m. There will also be a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.

The play's main characters are Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan. Helen is a young girl who has no outside communication with the world because she is blind and deaf. Annie, who was blind at one time, is able to break this communication barrier successfully.

The production stars Mary Catherine Bond as Annie Sullivan and Lauren Pritchard as Helen Keller. Union's new theatre director, Wayne Johnson will be directing "The Miracle Worker" for the fourth time. He directed the play at Union in 1967.

An Opening Night Gala will be held on Oct. 23. A reception with free food and drink will follow the performance. Members of the audience will have an opportunity to meet Union's cast members from 30 years ago and also the cast from this year's performance.

Tickets for "The Miracle Worker" are $6 for general admission and $3 for students.
