Jackson, Tenn. - The Rev. John Bedford was named Outstanding Director of Missions at the West Tennessee Pastors and Wives' Appreciation Banquet, held Sept. 10 at Union University. Bedford, director of missions of the Shiloh Baptist Association, received the award for his involvement and support of Christian education to churches in his association, along with his support of Union. Bedford is the 18th recipient of the award. "The award recognizes Rev. Bedford's outstanding service and devotion to God, to the Tennessee Baptist Convention and to Christian education through Union University," John Adams, vice president for campus ministries and church services, said. Bedford, who has served the Shiloh association for five years, received his undergraduate degree from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Miss., and his master of divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He lives with his wife Hester in Adamsville, Tenn. |
