| Jackson, Tenn. - Mezzo-soprano Pamela Gaston will
present a guest voice recital at 51ÉçÇø, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m., in the Recital
Hall of the Penick Academic Complex. Selections will include works from Handel, Ravel,
Mahler and Rorem. Gaston has appeared extensively in German and Austrian opera houses
and with the St. Louis Opera Theatre, Opera Memphis, Des Moines Metro Opera and Kansas
City Symphony. She has twice been a national finalist in the Metropolitan Opera
Council’s auditions, as well as a national finalist in the National Opera Association
Auditions.
Gaston holds a doctor of musical arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She
has been a member of the faculty at the University of Memphis for 10 years.
