![]() The concert will be held in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel in Union's Penick Academic Complex at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free. Hancock, a fellow of the American Guild of Organists, was a member of its National Council and is a founder and past president of the Association of Anglican Musicians. In addition to his duties at St. Thomas Church, he serves on the faculties of The Juilliard School in New York City and the Institute of Sacred Music, Yale University and teaches improvisation at The Eastman School of Music. A featured recitalist and lecturer at more than a dozen regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists, Hancock is considered to be the finest organ improviser in America. He has been heard in recital in many cities throughout the U.S. and Europe. Hancock's compositions are published by Oxford University Press, and are widely performed by musicians throughout the country. The McAfee Organ Recital is held annually in honor of James and Carolyn McAfee. While at Union, Hancock will play the McAfee Visser-Rowland Organ, named in honor of Carolyn McAfee.
